PASCARL, Jacqueline
Jacqueline has been a writer and social activist since the age of 8 - penning her first protest note regarding anti-abortion posters affixed to the door of the local church. Upon receiving the strap from her school principal, Sr. Philomena, Jacqueline noted with satisfaction the nun’s comments on her unique writing style and use of grammar and punctuation. A genuine fallen princess of the royal variety and sometime subject of media interest, she has been deployed as an humanitarian aid worker & Special Ambassador everywhere from war zones in The Balkans and East Timor, to Maasai villages in Kenya, and on Nelson Mandela’s child literacy projects in South Africa. She has lectured at the European Union and the US State Department on human rights issues and given speeches at the United Nations, but she considers her scariest time of gainful employment to be her stint with Australia’s television networks where she worked as an investigative reporter, journalist, producer, documentary film maker and presenter. With three bestselling books published in thirty languages – most of which she cannot understand – (although she does speak eight tongues badly), Jacqueline has been a correspondent for BBC Radio and contributed to magazines whilst managing to breed in all her reproductive decades, popping out four children now aged 6 to 26, she can drive a truck and has commanded a platoon of military types whilst under fire – the bullet missed. Jacqueline has received several awards including a UN Commendation. During the Victorian Bushfire Emergency, Jacqueline organised massive relief efforts in convoys of vehicles and distributed aid across the state – a portion of her daily journals were reproduced in Black Saturday – Stories of love, loss & courage from the Victorian Bushfires, published by HarperCollins/News Ltd.

BINNIE Kirsten
What an amazing run Kirsten had on ‘The Biggest Loser 2008’, not only did she lose 54.9Kg, but Kirsten made it all the way to the end, finishing the show in third place.

Kirsten represented Australia in water polo in the 1990s but had spent the last decade only coaching - too embarrassed to even put her swimming costume on. Due to her weight issues, her life had become empty, sad and lonely.

Kirsten‘s motivation for applying to the Biggest Loser was to regain her health and happiness and live the life she‘d dreamed of - to fall in love, get married and have children.

She hoped that losing weight would remove the reason not to socialise and as a result, Kirsten might finally meet that someone special. For Kirsten, the biggest motivation to become the person she once was is the desire to make her father proud once again.

Having achieved her weight loss goal, Kirsten now has the world at her feet. She wants to share her weight loss experiences and her keys to success with others.

Kirsten is now available for motivational speaking engagements and personal appearance, for bookings and enquiries please contact Stevie (02) 9699 2000 or stevie@marksonsparks.com

BRADBURY Steven
Gliding over the finish line at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games saw Steven Bradbury’s name etched into the history books. Skating in the 1000m final and in fifth place, the unthinkable happened. Leaving the path clear for Steven, he glided across the finish line in first place and became the First ever Australian to win a Winter Olympic Gold Medal ! For the speed skater with the eye-catching spiky bleached blonde hair and charismatic grin, it was a fitting end to his athletic career. In an interview after winning his gold medal, he said: “Obviously I wasn’t the fastest skater. I don’t think I’ll take the medal as the minute and a half of the race I actually won. I’ll take it as the last decade of the hard slog I put in.” Steven Bradbury is one of the world’s most colourful Olympic champions. FLANAGAN Darren
Darren Flanagan is a humble reluctant celebrity and a devoted, hard working family man.  An intelligent and articulate individual with a warm, caring personality, he was described by John Laws as "a hero who should get an award" and by Tracey Grimshaw as "a true hero".    When Darren Flanagan was flown in to Beaconsfield to help rescue Todd Russell and Brant Webb, he had no idea of the journey he was about to embark upon.  Flanagan used about 60 blasts to get within 300mm of the trapped miners. He described the explosives as being "more like a cylinder with rocket propellant in it" and said he spoke to Mr Russell and Mr Webb throughout the process. "I would say, ok boys, and we‘d talk through it and once they were comfortable, then we would count together, three, two, one, fire," Flanagan continued that night and day, night and day, until he got the men out.    Working to free the miners was the most pressure he had ever operated under and without exception the most difficult project Darren has ever undertaken. This Australian story of endurance and the triumph of the human spirit has ensured Darren Flanagan a place in Australian History.

HAIR Neil Dr.
From the early 1980s, I began to integrate finance and spirituality in my life, programming in one, researching in the other,  and consulting in both.   This continued into the late 1980s, and saw me, along with three business partners, creating and operating a financial software house in Sydney, while at the same time carrying on a research and consulting practice based on numerology and astrology.   Along the way, in 1984-85,  I had stumbled on a new model for numerology, which I developed over several years to apply to people, businesses and nations.   This I believe is the ground-breaking discovery I had dreamed of making.

After proper verification, through rigorous collection of data on world, business and personal affairs, and through consulting feedback, I decided in 1992 to start teaching courses in this new numerology.   Many courses followed, then workshops, and in 2000 I decided to formalise my teaching practice by creating Sydney School of Numerology.   By this time, financial consulting and software had gone on the back-burner, and all my energies were now devoted to the teaching of numerology, consulting to businesses and private individuals, helping them to gain a clearer sense of purpose in where they were heading.

Almost immediately, from the days of the early discoveries of 1984-85,  I realised I had to write a major work on the subject of numerology.  I have now gathered enough research, even to satisfy the discerning scientist in me,  through my observation of numbers in life at many levels,  and from my teaching and consulting experiences.   Many years later,  my publishing goal is coming closer to fruition,  and several books are planned,  based on mature courses and workshops, with one book entitled, “Mission & Vision: Following Your True Path”, well underway in 2008.

In recent years,  after being drawn back into the folds of science in 2001,  I have embarked on a new quest involving science and spirituality,  that of trying to observe the “grand design”;  to find scientifically undeniable “proof” of its existence.   And in addition, to find historical proof of the passage of the Ages, the beginning and the ending of the Piscean Age, which I believe is linked to one of the major religious questions of the Western World, to discern the time of the Second Coming.

MCMANUS Derrick
On 3 May 1994 Senior Constable Derrick McManus was shot 14 times with a high-powered semi-automatic weapon. With broken bones and severed arteries he lay bleeding to death for three hours before he could be rescued, during South Australia‘s longest running siege. The siege continued for 40 hours, with some 2,000 rounds of ammunition fired during this period, most prior to his rescue. Incredibly, Derrick survived and in doing so demonstrated that individuals can defy the odds; nothing is impossible.

What followed is a sometimes heart-wrenching, sometimes amusing, but always an absorbing determination to survive, set goals, build personal belief and overcome change. In so doing, overcome the physical and emotional fall-out - with the ultimate goal of returning to active duty as a member of the elite South Australia Police STAR Division.

Derrick has been a member of S.A. Police for over 20 years, being awarded the inaugural SA Police Bravery Medal in 1989 when, prior to STAR Division, he and his partner wrestled a gun from the hands of the man intent on shooting them. He also has a long history of community involvement ranging some 20 years and was awarded an Australia Day Young Citizen of the Year Award.

Through his role in STAR Division he has run Team Building workshops for leading companies and sporting bodies, has addressed conferences and seminars and worked with non-profit organisations and community groups. In 1997 he was appointed Ambassador to the Australian Red Cross Blood Service, having received 24 units of blood and blood products following the Nuriootpa shooting.

Derrick is a sought-after speaker with a natural, dynamic style of presenting. His story is an inspiration of what can be achieved by sheer guts and setting achievable goals. It also highlights the part that belief in self and attitude play in achieving results and in the condition of the human spirit. Above all, the account of his experience is a motivational tale of one man‘s positive approach against adversity and the success this approach achieved. Everyone has something to learn - both personally and professionally - about themselves from Derrick McManus‘s amazing experiences.

The high level of interest in Derrick‘s story combined with his presentation skills and leadership qualities has resulted in a demand for his services as a motivational and professional development speaker.
