Corey Worthington

Corey Worthington, the infamous “party boy” with giant yellow sunglasses and 2008 Big Brother House mate from Narre Warren in suburban Melbourne , made world wide news by throwing a house party in his parents home that finished up being  advertised on the internet and  attracted over 500 people.

The party was subsequently closed down by police who after being turned away by the crowds returned with 30 reinforcements, the dog squad and the Polair police helicopter.  

The story spread quickly on the internet making headlines around Australia and throughout the world including being the most downloaded story on the UK‘s BBC and US‘s CNN websites. 

Corey became an instant symbol for Generation Y throughout the world. A teenage icon. 

Once the domain of entertainment superstars to be instantly recognisable by their first name, Corey has joined the pantheon of Australian and international stars such as Elle, Kylie, Delta, Madonna and Frank who are known solely by their first name!

17-year-old Corey has spent the last few months completing local and international filming commitments and also watching “doing a Corey "  enter the lexicon as teenagers host out of control parties throughout the world !

His now legendary A Current Affair interview attracted attention world wide being shown on CNN and the BBC and viewed by over a million people on You Tube.

"I‘m not taking them off ‘cos they‘re famous" referring to ACA presenter Leila McKinnon’s request to remove his trademark yellow sunglasses was the highest viewed video of the week in the world in late January 2008. 

It’s spawned copycat sketches on TV shows and cartoons everywhere.
And the "Naughty Corey " song which is a parody of Bob Dylan‘s "Hurricane" has been played over 250,000 times!

His My Space friend’s numbers shot from 300 to 25,000 in a matter of weeks after the party.
 
Corey has also been nominated for the 2008 MTV awards as best TV moment alongside Snoop Dogg and the ABC‘s Chaser team.

Corey still lives in Narre Warren, loves music, inline skating, dirt bike riding and is a fashion trendsetter.  His shock of yellow hair, matching sunglasses, baseball cap, hoodie and nipple ringed bare chest style are instantly recognisable and copied by teenagers throughout Australia.
